 CODA Scholarship Announcement


CODA International is privileged to announce two $2,000.00 scholarships to be awarded for the fall of 2002. These scholarships are provided through a fund which has been established to assist hearing children of deaf parents to pursue post secondary educational opportunities. $ 2,000.00 (each)

TWO SCHOLARSHIPS for 2002 - 2003

Requirements
  1. Applications must be a high school graduate by the summer of 2002.
  2. Applicants must be the hearing son or daughter of deaf parents.
  3. Each applicant must submit:
    a. an official transcript from their high school.
    b. two letters of recommendation, and
    c. a typed two page essay.
  4. Essays must be submitted describing the applicant's Coda experience and how it has shaped the Coda as an individual. The essay should include a description of future career aspirations. Each essay will be judged for organizations, content, creativity, and a sense of purpose.
  5. Applicants may compete for both scholarships but a separate essay is for each submission.
  6. Deadline for submission: All applications must be completed and postmarked by May 6, 2002.
  7. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail.
  8. Scholarship winners' essays will be published in the CODA Connection, the organization's newsletter.
