The National Campaign to Fully Fund IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) has organized a petition to the federal government. The law was designed such that the federal, state and local governments would share the cost of special education, with the federal share being 40%. Currently the average amount the federal government contributes is just 13%.
The NCFFI's goal is to collect 1 million signatures on the petition. The deadline is May 31, 2001. Currently they have received 200,000 signatures. Please help by signing the petition online at:
