FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 9, 2002 LOS ANGELES - The Western Association
of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has awarded full Master’s Degree
accreditation to a collaborative, web-based Professional Distance Learning
Program between the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of
Education and John Tracy Clinic. The first of its kind in the nation, the
40-unit Master of Science and Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Credential is
designed to meet the growing needs of educators and other professionals
working in the field of Early Childhood Deaf Education. The Master of
Science in Education /Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Credential
Program, as it is officially known, is available to qualified applicants
with a bachelor’s degree or higher, and is intended for those who are
working with deaf or hard-of-hearing children in early intervention,
preschool or elementary settings.
