A Workshop for Teachers of Mainstreamed Hearing-Impaired Students presented by The Moog Center for Deaf Education Friday, October 5, 2001 |

Join us for an all day workshop where you will learn effective ways to work with the hearing-impaired students who are mainstreamed in your classroom with hearing students for all or part of the day. This workshop is for teachers who have a hearing-impaired student mainstreamed in their classroom, administrators who have a hearing-impaired student in their school, speech pathologist who work with hearing-impaired students in the mainstream, itinerant teachers of hearing-impaired students, and other support personnel who work with hearing-impaired students. The following topics will be discussed: * hearing loss and its impact on learning spoken language * difficulties hearing-impaired students may have with academics * learning styles of hearing-impaired students * strategies to use in the classroom * assistive listening devices * support services Enrollment is limited so that there will be plenty of opportunity for interaction and hands-on experience. This workshop will be from 8:30am to 4:00 pm. For overnight accommodations, contact us for a referral.
