1. Deaf children can learn to talk.
2. Time is precious...please don't cause us to waste it.
3. Listen to us. (We know our child, and we need to be listened to.)
4. The value of a cochlear implant is best realized through appropriate
education.
5. All educational programs are NOT created equal.
6. When you talk to us, remember you are talking about OUR CHILD.
7. When you give us the diagnosis, give us information about all options
and referrals to resources (local and national).
8. We are a valuable resource for other parents.
9. The earlier intervention begins, the better.
10. All states have a free birth-to-3 program.
