"One Life To Live" Plus Personal Studio Tour! Essay Contest Cochlear is proud to announce that we have reached an unprecedented 30,000 Nucleus® recipients worldwide. We are celebrating this landmark event with an essay contest for our recipients in the America's region, including Canada and Latin America. We are asking our recipients to submit an essay describing how your Nucleus cochlear implant has made a difference in your life. We invite you to complete the attached application and submit your essay, of 400 words are less, to Cochlear. Essays must be postmarked by May 15, 2001. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to New York City (airfare included), lunch with the stars of ABC's "One Life to Live", Kassie and James DePaive, and a personal tour of the show's set. The winner will be able to share their stories with Kassie and James DePaiva, who play Blair Cramer and Max Holden on the show, and their son, J.Q., a Nucleus®24 cochlear implant recipient. An honorable mention cash prize of $250.00 will also be awarded. Winners will be announced in June 2001. Contest Rules: Completed essays must be postmarked by May 15, 2001. The subject of the essay is how the Nucleus cochlear implant has changed your life. Entries must include: - A completed application. - An essay not exceeding 400 words. - Essays must include name, address, phone number, age. - Essays must be written in English. - A photo of the entrant.
