Ask The Expert on Cochlear Implants
Dr. Pat Chute is an Associate Professor at Mercy College in New York. She is the Coordinator of Audiology, the Director of Research and a member of the Board of Directors of the Children's Hearing Institute, an organization that raises money to support research related to hearing and its disorders. She was formerly the director of the Cochlear Implant Center at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, both in New York. She has been active in the implant field since 1979 and has written over 40 publications including "Children with Cochlear Implants in Educational Settings." Dr. Chute will be happy to answer questions related to cochlear implants, implantable hearing aids and rehabilitation for children and adults.

In addition, Dr. Chute is Vice President for Audiology for the New York State Speech Language and Hearing Association and Associate Editor of the Volta Review, a national journal emphasizing research in deafness. She has been active in the cochlear implant field since 1979 and has over 40 publications including a book entitled "Children with Cochlear Implants in Educational Settings." Recently, she was asked to author a book for Gallaudet Press for parents about cochlear implants. She is co-director of the Network of Educators of Children with Cochlear Implants (NECCI) a national organization that brings together educators, speech language pathologists and audiologists in the field of implantation. Dr. Chute is an expert in the areas of cochlear implants, implantable hearing aids, rehabilitation, standard audiological assessment in adults and children and Central Auditory Processing Disorder. She will be happy to answer your questions on these areas.
