She is now 6 weeks post-hookup and is doing wonderfully, but it wasn't always so! Be sure to read Chapter 10 in my Hearing Loss Journal to get the latest on where she was and where she is now. Click here: http://www.hearingexchange.com/journals/display.cgi?id=2&sort=date&storyview=toc&chapter=10&cat=5 As you may have noticed, HearingExchange News stopped publishing for a few weeks. Both my personal and professional life have been hectic as of late. We completed our move back to New York and were barely settled when my husband and I flew back to St. Louis for 5 days to attend and work the AG Bell (http://www.agbell.org) convention. It was a terrific experience and I was lucky to meet many HearingExchange members in the flesh! The next convention will be held in Los Angeles in 2004. Ready for the hottest news? I'm set for my long-awaited cochlear implant surgery! It's taking place next week at NYU Medical Center. I must admit, I'm a bit nervous about the surgery, but excited at the prospect of being able to hear better in a few months than I've been hearing in recent years. As soon as I'm able, I'll start a new Hearing Loss Journal on my experiences. Stay tuned...
