I just finished hosting a HearingExchange chat tonight where we talked about our hearing losses, the types of hearing aids we wear, our children and their hearing losses and generally got to know one another. It is always a bright spot in my week! Are you interested in chatting with us? We want to hear from you. Click on the reply link and tell us: 1. What time of day is good for you (morning, midday, evening)? 2. What day or days of the week are best for you? 3. Would you prefer a general chat or a topic specific chat? 5. Are you interested in hosting a one hour chat? Your input will be carefully considered and greatly appreciated. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Best times for me are mornings during the week. Since I'm on Mountain Standard Time (currently same time as Pacific), the evening session coincides with dinner time so I have been unable to join the chats. I would prefer to keep to a topic as much as possible. What is involved with hosting a chat? IP: Logged |

Reply to your questions: 1. midday is best or EARLY evening. 2. Tuesday/Wenesday or Sunday afternoons (people are not working) 3. specific but allow a little room for Q & A that are linked. 4.Realistic topics. With ALL DUE RESPECT, things that are CURRENT in the field. I feel your chat room offers comraderie but also should offer REAL HOPE in the technology, rights (ADA/Section 508) coupled with many new things available at NO COSTS through the States. 5.Yes. My "chat" would be the changes in technology. I also could for CALIFORNIA ONLY offer a host of places people could go for FREE assistance!. Lastly, I am well informed on the rights of the HOH/deaf community and where to go, what to do and so on. IP: Logged |

I would love to chat, but am free Mon - Friday nights say around 8 p.m. EST. I'm hard of hearing (I wear two hearing aids), but I'm also work in a college setting where I work directly with students with disabilities and those who are deaf. So there's lots I need to learn for the post secondary level IP: Logged |

Evening Mon-Fri works best for me since I am occupied with soccer and school during the days. Or perhaps weekend afternoons would work too. I don't care which type of chat- general is great for those who have questions they would like to have answered, but specific topic may be more organized? I don't know what topics I'd like to see, I'm pretty open minded and love to see anything I maybe have input on. I'm sorry I haven't yet made it to a chat yet! I am trying, though!
