HI! I am a grad student in Deaf Ed looking for sites or resources on grant writing proposals. I want to do my thesis on Auditory training with toddlers and young preschoolers with hearing loss. I'd love to beable to buy materials for the family to use and keep and even evolve it into a small playgroup type of activites. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Debbie C-M IP: Logged |

Hi Debbie, I can give you some direction as to where to look for grant money. I am the grant coordinator at a not-for-profit hearing and speech services agency in Missouri, and am looking for grant money every day. First, check with the library to see if they have corporate and foundation refrence materials for your state. These directories contain info on who is interested in what. From this, you can build a prospect list. I would suggest writing a letter of inquiry or calling each prospect to discuss your project and see if they might be interested in receiving a proposal about the project. The proposal simply describes the problem you will address, what you will be doing, the likely outcome or impact this project will have, and what you want from them. If you do not have a 501(C)(3) designation, you will need to look for corporate or civic groups such as Optimist of Kiwanas(sp?) Clubs to support your project. Best of luck. Jane IP: Logged |

Thanks Jane!! Your info is very helpful. Would you believe that you are the second person in a week to tell me to check thru the local Library. I am going to do that tomorrow. I'll let you know. Thanks so much!! Debbie IP: Logged |
